Pima Council on Aging
Karen turned to Pima Council on Aging for help with her mother, who had suffered a stroke. She had made a promise to her mom that she would never put her in a nursing home. Karen would not have been able to provide round-the-clock care her mom needed without the breaks she was afforded through PCOA’s caregiver respite services. She was able to have a few hours, a couple of times a week, to take care of her own health and errands.
Karen says, “taking care of a dying parent is incredibly hard…and you were there. PCOA is an absolutely wonderful organization…a lifesaver.” She
